we are a community, a movement, and a celebration of Arabic soul through a modern lens. Rooted in the timeless tradition of song, we bring people together to celebrate a legacy that spans generations and continents.
We sing for joy.
We sing for healing.
Our voices carry both the weight of memory and the joy of becoming.
It’s a musical ritual meets social salon.

It is the echo of cultures, voices, and beliefs that gives birth Echoes of the Orient - a modern, inclusive, and soulful choir founded in London.
At its core is the visionary
Pierre Khawam
Founder, Musical and Creative Director
A visionary pianist, music composer/ arranger and professor of music whose career spans over four decades, marked by an unwavering commitment to artistic excellence and cultural innovation. Studied at USEK (Holy Spirit University Kaslik Lebanon) and at the Royal College of Music London. Pierre holds certificates from ABRSM in classical Piano and Music theory. He launched his career at just 15 years old, setting the stage for a lifetime of groundbreaking musical endeavors.
In 1982, at the age of 17, Pierre performed at two influential concerts in the UAE under the patronage of Sheikh Zayed, a milestone that heralded his emergence as a musical expert.
At 18, he was leading his own 18-member band for eight transformative years. His collaborations with renowned artists - including George Wassouf, Samir Yazbek, Ragheb Alama, and many others - further solidified his reputation as a first-class musician and band leader.
Aged 19, he won a 1st prize in the 1985 pioneering program "Layaly Lubnan" and participated alongside "to be" future icons such as Najwa Karam and Moeen Shreif.
A true innovator, Pierre embraced the One Man Band concept in 1989, and in 1991, he made his mark as a senior music arranger at Sawt Beirut studio. There, he arranged and produced the iconic “Cocktail from Lebanon” for Tony Kiwan, a vibrant 12- minute medley of folkloric tunes that continues to be celebrated at public/family events and weddings more than three decades later.
A pivotal trip to London in 1993 not only expanded his international presence but also laid the foundation for a 30-year-long journey within the city’s dynamic cultural scene.
Pierre leads distinguished ensembles at premier venues and curates an extensive repository of original compositions. He continues to mentor musicians, direct large-scale performances, and preserve the rich traditions of Arabic music for future generations. He is also a sought-after bandleader in London’s top venues and a prolific composer, with an extensive archive of over 1,000 melodies and musical arrangements.
In the recent 2 years, he had been appointed the official Maestro for the Academy of Art and the Arabic Heritage on Britain.
Today, as a founder for the Echoes of the Orient London based Music Collective, Pierre has a vision to pioneer large-scale projects and productions that fuse classical elegance with modern creativity. With a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to cultural preservation, a unique blend of artistic excellence, technical mastery, and leadership, he is poised to elevate Arabic music on the global stage, bridging cultures through the universal language of music.
